**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review**
The first thing that popped into my mind immediately after finishing this book was simple: I want the second book of the series right now! The world that author M.L. Banner has created is not overly far-fetched, with technological situations that at times reminded me of the late Michael Crichton (a very good thing).
Throughout the novel, readers are treated to a group of believable characters, each of who evoke strong emotions in the reader as the book progresses. The detail put into this fantastic world makes it feel so real that I sometimes found myself having to blink away from the book to realize what world is actually real. It’s hard to read a book about a religious faction in the future without thinking that it’s over wrought. Mr. Banner avoids this with ease, instead creating a cult-like group that is reminiscent of crime stories.
This book will be a welcome treat to any fans of either the science fiction or apocalyptic genre, giving each reader plenty to think about long after the book is done.
