The cover of this book immediately brings to mind Kate Middleton and Prince William. However, this brilliant piece of writing brings to light the not-so-glamourous side of the coin that comes when a ‘commoner’ falls in love with royalty.

Beginning at Oxford and spanning a number of years, The Royal We tells the story of Rebecca ‘Bex’ Porter, an Idahoan with dreams of awakening her artistic talents in England. While at school she meets the Prince Nicholas and his gang of friends, who show Bex the ropes in her new country while treating her to the privileges that come with a royal friend.

From start to finish, I was glued to the book’s vibrant characters and undeniably mesmerizing plot. The evolution of Bex is extremely realistic, allowing for many readers to identify with both her passions and struggles.

If you’re looking for a book that will keep you up to all hours of the night, yet still leave you breathless then head to your nearest bookstore or library to pick up a copy of The Royal We.
